The 11th january marks the beginning of the fashion year with men’s collections opening the festivities for winter 2019/2020, followed by 4 days of haute couture in paris for spring/summer 2019 where balmain is officially set to present their first couture collection. from the 8th february women’s winter ready-to-wear 2019/20 will take the reins, starting with new york. london will follow (note that the british fashion council has specified that no animal fur will be used during this fashion week). a trend which is becoming more and more prevalent amongst brands. michael kors, gucci, jean paul gaultier, versace, armani and calvin klein have all banned fur in their collections… at milan we will see daniel lee’s first collection for bottega veneta followed by even more debuts in paris after the appointment of new designers for nina ricci, lacoste and the relaunch of patou. alongside this but outside of the mainstream calendar, we will see many pre-collections as well as cruise collections by louis vuitton, dior and chanel which will take us all over the world.during spring, take inspiration from the new young generation of emerging designers though the 34th hyères festival (from 25th to 29th april) as well as the lvmh awards in june.
