Gucci's 2020 Cruise Collection in Rome

Artistic Director: Alessandro MicheleLocation: After showing in an ancient Roman cemetery located in Arles, Gucci returns to Italy and chooses Rome and the Capitoline Museums to present their 2020 Cruise Collection. Ambiance: Models walk in darkness, illuminated by torches on guest’s chairs and through skylights.Collection: The Gucci collection campaigns for women’s sexual and reproductive rights. The designer Alessandro Michele uses fashion to carry strong messages. The slogan, “My body, my choice” is also written on a blazer and a uterus is embroidered in sequins on a pleated dress. The designer references Italy in the 70s highlighting gender equality, diversity and self-expression.The collection refers to Ancient Rome and décor through draped dresses reminiscent of togas. We also find a mix and match of patterns and materials for an opulent collection that is as always, daring and eccentric.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
