In light of the new york fashion week, moscow, the city known for its kremlin and colourful monuments, held its first edition of the ‘’fashion parade’’ on sunday 9th september. at dusk, international press and muscovites were invited to attend the presentation of the collections of 15 russian designers and former soviet republic members, who paraded around the fountain which is topped with 16 sculptures, symbolising the friendship of the people of the former ussr. the fashion show incorporated modernity and tradition and was organised around one mission under the benevolent eye of the producer andrey fomin, to unify people through fashion. lali is an uzbek label that works with the refinement of exclusive prints, emphasising handmade crafts.igor chapurin is one of the best-known russian designers internationally having been doing fashion shows in paris for 12 seasons. he revisits the history of his country through each of his collections.it’s an event in moscow that shows that in a world of globalisation, it is interesting to see that each designer has his own story to tell and that fashion is a real vector of communication and unification of people. interviews with:andrey fomin: today we have two main areas of focus. first one - moscow for the first time holds a public fashion show. fashion leaves the halls, couture and enclosed spaces and becomes street fashion. and the second is a unification - today we invited designers from the former soviet republics to participate in the show. and if our politicians may have some strained diplomatic relations with one or another country, then fashion today unites us all together again. lali:for many years, lali fashion house has been studying the national cut, ethnicity, costume history of not only uzbekistan, but all of asia, up to japan. i really love this culture, ethnicity and aesthetics. for this collection, we specially developed fabrics. our weavers are still woven manually, like a hundred, two hundred and three hundred years ago. igor chapurin:for many years, lali fashion house has been studying the national cut, ethnicity, costume history of not only uzbekistan, but all of asia, up to japan. i really love this culture, ethnicity and aesthetics. for this collection, we specially developed fabrics. our weavers are still woven manually, like a hundred, two hundred and three hundred years ago. musique free to take: don’t stand a chance by ofrin artlist
